Here is the new Karate Kid trailer if you care to watch it. This would have probably been a much better idea, and movie had they not stolen the Karate Kid name. Again I ask, did the ORIGINAL Karate Kid not sit well enough with audiences to the point that they need to go and re-make this movie? How long is it going to be before Hollywood runs out of original movies to re-make? What are they going to do when there are no more movies to re-make, re-make re-makes?? This is so getting out of hand, why does no one out there have any original ideas for movies? I am getting really pissed off at the fact that they are changing all these great movies by re-writing them and throwing new actors in them. Like I said, this movie would have most likely been a pretty good flick had they not used the name because it looks as if they have changed it up just enough that they really didn’t have to associate it with the Karate Kid name. They even managed to change the character’s names, so why not the name of this movie? Oh, and did I mention that this movie takes place in China? KARATE originated in Japan, not China. Kung Fu originated in China, which is what the boy is taught by the Chinese native Jackie Chan in this movie. They should have gotten their facts straight and called it the Kung Fu kid or something, because at least that way they could have spared the name and the shame.
-Lazy Idiot-
i know at one point it was suppose to be called the kung fu kid but i guess they thought they could con more people into seeing it if they went back to calling it the karate kid
That’s exactly why they changed the name, its all about money and not staying true to the original series. Its a load of crap if you ask me. I understand they want to sell more tickets but you do that by having a great idea, not ripping off someone else’s.
