This movie also has Danny Trejo in it, so it pretty much has to kick ass right? It looks a lot more like the original too, I think.

So here we ha
ve yet another product of the Hollywood fascination with “accidentally overdosing”. Haim was a relatively talented actor as a kid, and had a string of hit movies in the late 80′s and early 90′s including: The Lost Boys, Watchers, Silver Bullet, and Dream A little Dream. He achieved success with his cohort Corey Feldman in just about all of the above named movies, they were often known as “The Corey’s”. Haim had trouble with drugs as a result of being thrown in to the limelight at a relatively early age, being subjected to pot, cocaine, and alcohol by the time he was a young teenager. He was also known to be one of the biggest heartthrobs to teeny-boppers in the 80′s and 90′s. Haim passed away in his apartment with his mother at his side because he had been sick for a few days prior.
Corey Feldman appeared on Larry King Live on Wednesday saying Haim was “very destitute, very broke,” had no car and few friends. “At the end of the day, Larry, where were all these people the last 10 years, the last 15 years of Corey’s life?” asked Feldman, also 38. “Where were all these people to lend a hand out, to reach out to him and say, you know, you’re a legend, you’re – you’re an amazingly talented, wonderful person who’s really never gone out of his way to hurt anybody other than himself?”
Haim had also suffered a drug-related stroke about 10 years ago due to his struggle with his addictions. It’s too bad that here we have another talented, young actor that was totally consumed by prescription (and other) drugs from the inception of his career. R.I.P.!

When info hit
the web last month about Blade director Stephen Norrington helming THE LOST PATROL which has been described as “a supernatural action thriller set against the backdrop of World War II”. The question that ran through everybody’s mind was ’so is he going to make that CROW reboot or not?!’. Norrington gave some update, via Shocktilyoudrop and confirmed that he’s still on board to direct THE CROW reboot…
“The producer and visual effects people are crunching numbers. We’ve opened discussions with major cast but nothing is final yet,”
“Cast and budget and schedules will no doubt continue to adjust all equations.”
The website also states that THE CROW script is already completed and production might start this summer before Norrington works on THE LOST PATROL.
this new take will still be loyal to the graphic novel by James O Barr so unlike Alex Proyas‘ dark, gloomy, gothic adaptation back in 1994 starring the late Brandon Lee who tragically lost his life during production, Norrington’s version will be more realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style
Here’s the official synopsis of the graphic novel THE CROW which was first published in 1989
“The story revolves around an unfortunate young man named Eric Draven. He and his fiancée, Shelly, are assaulted by a gang of street thugs after their car breaks down. Eric is shot in the head and is paralyzed, and can only watch as Shelly is savagely beaten and raped until she dies at the scene. Eric survives and is taken to a hospital, but while surgeons are trying to save him, the Crow comes to him and convinces him he needs to let go of his life. Only by dying can the Crow help him exact his revenge. One year later, Eric is resurrected by the Crow to seek out vengeance on the murderers, methodically stalking and killing them. When not on the hunt, Eric stays in the house he shared with Shelly, spending most of his time there lost in memories of Shelly; her absence is torture for him, and he stays in hideous emotional pain, even engaging in self-mutilation. However, this provides him little release; any injury he suffers (save those that are self-inflicted) heals rapidly, leaving him scarred but intact. The Crow acts as both guide and goad for Eric, giving him information that helps him in his quest but also chastising him for dwelling on Shelly’s death, seeing his pining as useless self-indulgence that distracts him from his purpose.” (Source: Rama’s Screen)
OK, can I just say that this is just getting out of hand? Why does this movie need to be remade, did Brandon Lee not do a good enough job at portraying the ORIGINAL Crow? The man will never rest in peace because some asshole in a movie studio just has to change his dying legacy. What is wrong with this picture?? I am getting tired of these good movies being “re-booted”.

So what’s the deal here, really? Well according to Wikipedia, it is going to be a re-boot of the Spider-Man franchise. I’m not sure what to think about this, especially because they want it to take place when Peter Parker is still in high school. Originally, Spider-Man 4 was to include the Lizard, and the Vulture as at least 2 of Spider-Man’s villainous foes, but now it is unclear who will be featured now that the original script has been thrown in file 13. Sam Raimi claimed that he backed out of the project due to time constraints, not sure that he would be able to deliver the film for a May 2011 release date. There is no hint yet at who will be portraying Spider-Man, Mary Jane Watson, or any other characters, but one thing is clear, get ready for a whole new Spider-Man experience (good or bad). Maybe this means that Sam Raimi could team up with Bruce Campbell again for a new Evil Dead movie????? How awesome would that be?!…….. On a related note, there is also some buzz floating around that there will be a Venom spin-off movie slated for 2012 as well. Venom is reportedly going to be portrayed as an anti-hero instead of outright villain, which makes no sense to me at all (because he loves to destroy just about everything). There seems to be a script written already, but it is apparently being re-written to adhere to the new idea of Venom being an anti-hero. This should be an interesting take, especially because Stan Lee has agreed to even star in a cameo role. I guess we shall see what this brings to the table for an altered Marvel universe.

So apparently Netflix will be coming to the Wii early spring 2010. It is made possible by inserting a Netflix play disc in the Wii console and hooking the console up to the internet to stream content. Many of you who’ve already been doing this on the PS3 know what I’m talking about here as far as the disc goes. It’s a good idea to enable the Wii to play Netflix content, as there are a lot of kids movies and other such content available on their servers. I’m sure that eventually they will all come with this feature built in, just like the Xbox 360. You should be excited if you own a Wii for this software roll out. Bye the way, the disc is free if you already have a Netflix account and you can pre-order it from www.netflix.com
STARRING: Hillary Swank, Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor
PLOT: Amelia Earhart, a Kansas girl, discovers the thrill of aviation at age 23, and within 12 years has progressed to winning the Distinguished Flying Cross for being the first woman to pilot a plane solo across the Atlantic Ocean. At age 39, she sets out on an attempt to circumnavigate the globe, an adventure that catapults her into aviation myth. Written by Jim Beaver {jumblejim@prodigy.net}
This movie looks like a biopic flick about the life and mysterious disappearance of Amelia Earhart. It also looks as if they have inter-twined a love story in the mix as well. It may prove to be a tearjerker for all you that are in to that sort of movie.

STARRING: Jennifer Aniston, Aaron Eckhart and Martin Sheen
PLOT: Heartbreak and past pain threaten the budding romance of a florist and a therapist in this romantic drama. DR Burke Ryan (Eckhart) makes his living telling people how to live their lives in the present, but the death of his wife three years ago still haunts him. Meanwhile, Eloise Chandler (Aniston) struggles with the pain of failed relationships and has decided to give up on love. But a chance meeting between the two begins a romance that neither of them can fight.
Looks to be mildly entertaining, but I usually don’t have too much to say about romantic comedies unless they are REALLY good. If anyone does see this, please let me know how it is.
STARRING: Woody Harrelson, Jessi Eisenberg, and Bill Murray
PLOT: The horror comedy Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss — but when you’re afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying’ bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies. Written by Columbia Pictures
Can I just say how awesome this movie looks?? I have wanted to see this since I saw the preview some months ago. It looks raw, funny, and filthy. My kind of movie!! I’ll definitely be giving this one a watch, as I love Woody Harrelson and Bill murray!!

-Saw VI-
Starring Tobin Bell, Mark Rolston, Costas Mandylor, and Shawnee Smith.
Plot: Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood.
Will this be the finale to the Saw saga? Doubtful, it’s too much like Friday the 13th in that way.
Anyone else getting burned out on these??
