I hope you all had a fantastic New Year’s Eve and are having a great New Year’s Day!! Hopefully 2012 will ring in with greater possibilities and more money than you can spend. And I also hope that the Myans were wrong about the end of the world.

With Sony Playstation (Move), Xbox Kinect, and Nintedo’s Wii in full swing on the market (especially for the holidays), I find it hard to think that to some degree adults can’t benefit from one of these 3 systems.  I think the target group is definitely kids, but with as many games as each console seems to be pumping out, there are definitely some games tailored to, and could be fun for adults.  The other potential benefit I see here is that with this “new wave” of video game technology available on the market comes the physical requirements of successfully using them.  The exercise alone can be beneficial, especially since you’re talking about video games , which in past years were thought of as a brain draining, zombifying, perennial waste of time.  I see more and more adults wanting to own these systems simply because they force you to get off your butt and actually move around to play them, which incidentally, is reason enough to want your kids to use them as well.  With kids not wanting to go outside and play like years past, at least this provides a slight alternative to the exercise factor.  Granted, it still doesn’t help with the imagination part of kids’ necessary growing, but I think if we take it one step at a time, we’ll eventually get there.  I really don’t see a problem with owning any of these units and with the prices and graphics becoming more and more attractive all the time, it’s hard to say no.
